After posting our technology roadmap last week, we were excited to show our community some of the great progress we’ve been making at Theta. Words are nice, but videos are better! So we made a video.
This video is a visual walkthrough of an initial prototype demo that explains how different nodes in the Theta protocol work. There are caching/relaying nodes that serve streams to other viewers, and of course viewer nodes that watch these video streams. We’ll show you some of the inner workings (aka code running in the background) of our mesh streaming protocol that will illustrate how the streams are relayed. A graphic traffic composition graph will make these concepts clear! Also, at a very high level, we’ve integrated a token earning mechanism for the caching/relaying node — that’s how you’ll rack up tokens and be rewarded for providing your excess computing resources!
We hope the video will give you a better idea of what we’re building. It’s just a glimpse of what’s to come!
