Theta EdgeCloud is integrating BytePlus’s latest generative AI models, led by Seedance 2.5, giving developers on-demand access to ByteDance’s video, image, and multimodal AI.
In one of the most significant model-availability partnerships to date for decentralized infrastructure, BytePlus, ByteDance’s enterprise technology platform, is bringing its proprietary AI model portfolio to Theta EdgeCloud.
The collaboration adds a new distribution channel for BytePlus models while expanding EdgeCloud’s on-demand AI catalog with some of ByteDance’s latest generative technology. The initial rollout includes Seedance 2.5, Seedream 5.0 Pro, and additional BytePlus models, with access available in supported markets across Asia-Pacific, including Japan and South Korea.
For Theta, the partnership brings together two increasingly important layers of the AI stack: proprietary generative models and the infrastructure required to serve them at scale.
Who is BytePlus, and why does it matter?

BytePlus is ByteDance’s enterprise technology platform, providing businesses and developers with access to AI models, cloud infrastructure, and technologies developed across the ByteDance ecosystem.
Its ModelArk platform provides API access to ByteDance’s proprietary model portfolio across video, image, language, and speech. That includes Seedance for video generation, Seedream for image generation and editing, general-purpose multimodal models, and Seed Speech.
Through the Theta integration, BytePlus gains an additional infrastructure and distribution channel for bringing these models to developers and enterprises using EdgeCloud.
The models behind the partnership

The initial integration is led by BytePlus’s latest generation of visual AI models, with Seedance 2.5 as the headline release.
Seedance 2.5 is ByteDance’s latest audio-video generation model. It supports text, image, video, and audio inputs; generates audiovisual clips of up to 30 seconds in a single pass; accepts up to 50 reference assets; and supports video extension and targeted editing. Its unified audio-video architecture generates synchronized sound alongside visuals, while multimodal references give creators detailed control over subjects, motion, composition, camera direction, and audio.
Seedream 5.0 Pro is ByteDance’s latest image-generation and editing model, combining multimodal reasoning with controls for composition, consistency, local editing, materials, color, and text rendering.
The broader BytePlus model portfolio extends into multimodal AI and speech, giving EdgeCloud developers access to capabilities spanning video, images, language, and audio through the same infrastructure layer.
Why BytePlus chose Theta EdgeCloud
Theta EdgeCloud combines hosted data-center GPUs with a distributed network of more than 30,000 community-run edge nodes. Its hybrid architecture gives model providers several advantages when serving compute-intensive AI workloads at scale:
- Hybrid compute capacity. EdgeCloud can match workloads with data-center or distributed GPU resources according to their performance and hardware requirements.
- Flexible scaling. Access to multiple classes of GPU infrastructure gives model providers additional capacity as demand changes, without relying on a single pool of compute.
- Developer distribution. BytePlus models become directly accessible to developers, researchers, and enterprises already building and running AI workloads through EdgeCloud.
- Distributed workload resilience. Workload routing and failover across eligible resources give EdgeCloud additional flexibility when individual compute resources become unavailable.
For Theta, adding BytePlus’s proprietary models expands EdgeCloud beyond raw GPU capacity. Developers can access high-end generative video, image, speech, and multimodal models alongside the infrastructure used to run AI workloads.
A new gateway for frontier generative AI
As generative models become more capable, access and distribution are becoming an increasingly important part of the AI stack.
The BytePlus integration gives EdgeCloud users direct access to ByteDance’s latest generation of creative AI models through Theta’s existing infrastructure and API environment. For BytePlus, it opens an additional route to developers and enterprises using distributed GPU infrastructure across multiple markets.
For Theta, the partnership expands the role of EdgeCloud from providing compute capacity to also providing direct access to proprietary production models.
For developers, the result is straightforward: Seedance 2.5 and the broader BytePlus model portfolio are now available through Theta EdgeCloud.
