Theta Labs is proud to announce a collaboration with Weaver Labs, a London-based provider of private 5G, connectivity and edge infrastructure software for stadiums, venues and other real-world environments.
Cell-Stack: Edge and Connectivity in One Platform
Weaver Labs builds Cell-Stack, a software platform that brings edge and connectivity together in one place. Cell-Stack gives venue operators one platform to set up, run, and grow on-site applications as simply as public cloud, turning infrastructure from a sunk cost into a strategic asset.
At Stadium MK, Cell-Stack delivered the edge and connectivity platform supporting AI analytics, multi-angle streaming, 3D stadium navigation, and an AI assistant for fans across the 30,400-seat venue. The platform has also been deployed in ports, city infrastructure and live entertainment venues.
Bringing Decentralized GPU Compute to the Edge
Theta EdgeCloud brings the other half of the stack: a decentralized GPU network built for AI.
Venues increasingly want to run intelligence on-site, whether that is real-time crowd analytics, multi-angle video processing or automated safety monitoring. Each of those needs substantial, elastic GPU capacity alongside reliable local connectivity, which is what this collaboration is designed to provide without heavy local hardware investment.
Under the collaboration, Weaver Labs will utilize Theta EdgeCloud as a decentralized AI compute resource for Cell-Stack, supporting low-latency AI inference and other compute workloads directly on-site.
Building on that, the two companies will explore joint solutions that combine Weaver Labs’ connectivity and edge cloud software with Theta's distributed GPU and AI infrastructure, using Cell-Stack to integrate edge engines, connectivity and edge services with Theta's network.
The focus is on sports, stadium and venue applications, enabling sports teams, stadium operators, venues and other customers to run advanced AI applications, enhance fan experiences, and unlock new operational capabilities.
The two teams will also work on deploying Theta's AI agents in stadiums and venues, building on Theta's work with clubs including Philadelphia Union and Olympique de Marseille, whose EdgeCloud agents answer supporter questions inside their official apps.
Weaver Labs will have early access to new EdgeCloud releases and direct technical support as it builds AI workloads into Cell-Stack.
“Weaver Labs has shown what becomes possible when a venue turns their connectivity into a platform for new services. Pairing Cell-Stack with Theta EdgeCloud means the AI applications running on those networks have GPU compute to match,” said Mitch Liu, Co-founder and CEO of Theta Labs. “Sports and venues are a core focus for us, and this collaboration extends our reach directly to the network edge.”
“Venues want to run intelligence on-site, and that requires high-performance compute alongside robust connectivity,” said Maria Lema, CEO of Weaver Labs. “By bringing Theta EdgeCloud into the Cell-Stack ecosystem, we give venues and technical partners an easy way to deploy GPU-heavy AI services on their existing infrastructure. Together, we are turning network infrastructure into a platform for real-time capabilities.”
